Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our research team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting clinical research studies, providing expert nursing care to research participants, and collaborating with investigators and other healthcare professionals to ensure the success of research initiatives. You will also be managing a small staff.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of clinical research studies, including participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, and follow-up.
- Perform comprehensive assessments of research participants, including medical history review, physical examinations, and laboratory tests.
- Administer study interventions and treatments according to protocol requirements and clinical standards.
- Monitor participants for adverse reactions and provide appropriate nursing interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of study procedures, participant data, and adverse events.
- Collaborate with principal investigators, study coordinators, and other team members to ensure compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between research participants, healthcare providers, and study sponsors to facilitate communication and optimize participant care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of research protocols, standard operating procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in clinical research and evidence-based practice.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the respective specialty area (Family, Pediatric) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Understanding or willingness to learn clinical research principles, study design, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Good Clinical Practice, HIPAA, HSP, IATA).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
