2025 Summer Program Aide

For over 20 years, the Pasadena Educational Foundation’s Summer Enrichment Program has offered educational opportunities that are fun & creative, build critical thinking skills, and promote personal growth for students. We are looking for dedicated individuals who have a passion for working in a school environment.

Every staff person plays a critical role in the program by providing a safe, fun, engaging, and high-quality experience for our students. Interested applicants should value the role of education in a young person's life.

PEF plans to offer morning and afternoon programs to support students all day. Both Morning (AM) and Afternoon (PM) shifts are available, and candidates can request either one or both shifts. In both shifts, PEF is looking for enthusiastic, creative individuals who have the ability to problem solve, communicate, adapt, and motivate.

• Morning (AM) shifts typically involve supporting a credentialed teacher in an introductory classroom for Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students.
  
• Afternoon (PM) shifts typically involve more independent work, supervising a smaller group of approximately 10-13 Kindergarten through 8th-grade students, with activities assigned by the Site Coordinator.
  

Program Aides will report to the Site Coordinator(s) on the campus they are assigned to. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with students to complete tasks, monitoring students in group settings (like recess and lunch), and assisting with student safety.

Please note:

• Both current PUSD and non-PUSD employees are welcome to apply.
• Prior employment by PEF does not guarantee a position for the 2025 summer program.
• The time commitment of a program aide will vary based on the shift you are hired for. All shifts are Monday through Thursday, June 16 through July 17, 2025 (exact dates and times TBD).
  
  • Morning (AM only) aides work approximately 5 hours in the morning.
  • Afternoon (PM only) aides work approximately 5 hours in the afternoon.
  • All-Day (AM and PM) aides (who work both shifts) work approximately 9-10 hours in the morning and afternoon.
• Hiring preference will be given to those who can commit to working every day of the program.
• While we try to match candidates to their preferred campus and/or area of interest, we reserve the right to place as needed.
• Employment is dependent upon verification and timely completion, before the program starts, of all mandated payroll tax (W-4, DE4) and employment eligibility (I-9) forms, and a background check.
• This is a temporary, part-time position that does not include paid time off or any benefits.

All applicants will receive a response by the end of March 2025. Interviews will be conducted online via Google Meet or Zoom. Not everyone who applies will be interviewed.
