Primary Purpose : Provide individualized, high quality behavior support services to each child under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and behavior specialist.
Education / Certification :
High school diploma or equivalent
30 credited college hours preferred
Registered Behavior Technician credential required (as demonstrated by inclusion on the RBT registry on the BACB website) within 180 days of hire date
Valid Texas driver's license

Ability to demonstrate creativity and a "think outside the box" attitude to provide support and achieve positive outcomes for all students and staff
Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and reliability

Experience : Experience working with children with behavioral difficulties, particularly Autism and other Developmental Delays.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
1. Complete accurate documentation of student specific behavior with data collection sheets or other methods.
2. Complete accurate documentation of the delivery of behavior support services.
3. Follow Behavior Analyst / Specialist guidance regarding time recommended per individual student.
4. Provide behavior support in accordance with students' Behavior Intervention Plans.
5. Provide campus-based programming and support as directed.
6. Review and implement recommendations made by Behavior Specialists.
7. Communicate appropriately and effectively with staff as needed.
8. Understand and adhere to FERPA laws and regulations.
9. Provide training and support to staff in implementing Behavior Intervention Plans, documenting and monitoring progress in Behavioral IEP goals, implementing and monitoring progress in compliance and social skills, and modeling appropriate behavioral interventions to crisis behaviors.
10. Assist Behavior Specialists with preference assessments and functional analyses, conduct direct observations, collect data, summarize data, document training progress, and monitor the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
11. Maintain RBT certification by attending supervision meetings, tracking supervision hours and renewing certification on an annual basis.
12. Maintain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training program certification provided by the District upon hire.
13. Attend meetings and trainings as required.
14. Attendance at work is an essential function.
15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Mental Demands : Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, and kneeling, pushing and pulling; regular heavy lifting of students, equipment, and materials. Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), reason, understand verbal instructions, instruct; maintain emotional control under stress. Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or over), reaching above shoulders, walking, use of fingers (record keeping, typing, writing, computer), standing, repeated bending, kneeling, crouching, specific visual requirements (activity sufficient for reading / writing and supervising students), specific hearing requirements (take verbal directions and listen to determine and respond to students' needs), activity sufficient to monitor children's safety.
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors :
The employee may be required to perform physical restraint as part of CPI training. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move materials and objects.
