"Pasadena High School was established in 1886. The school has been at its current location since 1960. Pasadena High School is one of four comprehensive high schools in the Pasadena Unified School District and serves students from the communities of Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre. The area is prominent for its numerous historical landmarks as well as the Rose Bowl Stadium and Tournament of Roses. Join our team today! Experience: Equivalent to one (1) year of full-time experience engaged in public or military law enforcement, plant security, etc., is required. Experience with adolescent groups involving discipline, safety and security is especially desired.
Education: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, is required. Course work in police science through a Community College or a Military Technical School is desirable.
SPECIAL LICENSE OR LANGUAGE SKILLS
A current license issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (A Guard Card) and a valid First Aid/CPR card are required. A valid Class C California Driver's License is desirable. The ability to speak, read and write another language, such as Armenian and Spanish, is desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of a position with or without reasonable accommodation and without hazard to themselves or others, and possess skills sufficient to establish adult authority with students; must be capable of: lifting up to seventy-five (75) pounds and hold the weight for 20 seconds and repeat the exercise 3 times within 2 minutes; must have the strength and agility to protect self and others including students and staff from physical attack; standing without outside support for at least one (1) hour, walking at a rate 100 yards within 60 seconds and maintaining the pace for 5 minutes; running/trotting for at a rate of 100 yards in 40 seconds; bending down to touch the ground and rising again to a full upright position 10 consecutive times within 30 seconds; crawling with hands touching the ground for 10 yards within 20 seconds; stooping and remaining in squatting position for 30 seconds; ascending and descending a flight of at least 15 stairs within 20 seconds and repeating the exercise 3 times within 75 seconds.
