How You Will Contribute:
Position assists in overseeing and promoting the health and safety of clients throughout the treatment process. Nurse Practitioners provide compassionate and professional medical care and guidance to clients, ensuring optimal levels of client health and safety throughout their treatment.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships, facility leadership, nursing, clinical and direct care team members.
Outside the organization: May initiate and maintain working relationships with clinical providers, clients and families, referral partners and vendors, as needed and directed.
Essential Responsibilities:

Provides compassionate and professional medical care and guidance to clients, ensuring optimal levels of client health and safety.
- Cultivates and maintains a client-centered approach to care, recognizing and adapting to cultural diversity in the provision of care, incorporating clients cultural and spiritual preferences, values, and beliefs into the provision of care.
- Cultivates and maintains a client-centered approach to confidentiality, privacy, comfort, emotional support, mutual trust, and respect.
- Collaborates with Medical Director/Medical Providers in the provision of medical care to clients.
- Completes all required client assessments within appropriate timelines as required by payor and regulatory bodies.
- Ensures physician orders are recorded and followed.
- Submits lab and medication orders, as needed.
- Oversees medication management, prescribing and monitoring efficacy, as needed.
- Leads continuous quality improvement initiatives through participation in quality and performance improvement processes.
- Ensures processes adhere to licensure and accreditation standards.
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to ensure adherence to medication management and incident reporting processes.
- Completes required documentation related to assessments, medication management and clinical observations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborates with Utilization Review team, engaging in peer-to-peer case review and advocacy, as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Functions within the guidelines of the Companys Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and Company PHI guidelines.
- Models and promotes alignment with company values, mission and goals.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing education opportunities, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What We Are Seeking:
Education and Experience
Must be licensed Nurse Practitioner in the state of VA with at least one year of post-graduate experience. Possesses working knowledge of psychotherapy, psychopathology, diagnostic assessment and related treatment interventions. Knowledge of evidence-based treatments and ability to individualize treatment approaches to meet each client's needs. Must be able to conceptualize and implement master treatment plan with fully developed problems, objectives and goals and monitor other clinicians to do the same. Three plus years of Nurse practitioner in primary care or family practice settings.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers, clients, families, other facilities and/or vendors.
- While performing duties may be required to sit stationary for long periods of time.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell.
- Ability to move up to 25 pounds.
Other Requirements
- Position requires incumbent to have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
- Successful completion of Criminal Background Check through DBHDS, Background Investigation Unit, and VDSS Registry Searches.
- Clearance of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Active and clear DEA License.
