EXTENSIVE SCHOOL YEAR (ESY) PROGRAM

Dates: June 9-12, June 16-19, June 23-26 (4 Hours Per Day)
Hours:Virtual, 54 hours total/16 hours per week (Flexible Schedule)
Location: Virtually From Home
Grade Level: K6-8 - Extended School Year (ESY)
JOB SUMMARY
Guide and support students through the canvas course, implemented as an optional, self-paced, enrichment course with live, virtual tutorials, for any student entering Algebra 1/Algebra 1 Honors in the subsequent, middle school year.
- Provide pacing recommendations for student progression
- Provide feedback to students and families about goals and skill progression
- Individual/small group student support for students that request additional support
- Facilitate 4 virtual lessons each week. Each daily lesson is hour-long, pre-determined skill tutorials offered at various times each day. Calendar shared with students and families. Daily lessons will be based on Big Ideas Learning materials/resources.
Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Attend the 6/5/24 Algebra Power-Up Training via Zoom
- Provide pacing recommendations for student progression
- Provide feedback to students and families about goals and skill progression
- Individual/small group student support for students that request additional support
- Facilitate 4 virtual lessons each week. Each daily lesson is hour-long, pre-determined skill tutorials offered at various times each day. Calendar shared with students and families. Daily lessons will be based on Big Ideas Learning materials/resources
- Help students/families navigate the Big Ideas Learning Platform and troubleshoot initial, technical issues
Monitoring:
- Monitor pacing (data tracker)
- Student/family communication log
- Live, virtual lesson attendance
Reporting: Student data tracker and progress through the Algebra Power-Up canvas course
REQUIREMENT
- Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate in Middle Grades Math Education (Grade 5-9) or Secondary Mathematics Education (Grades 6-12)
