Benefit Earning Position
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for maintaining inventory and operation of the parts department of Transportation Services to ensure all vehicle and equipment needs are met, in accordance with District guidelines and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or Vocational Degree from an accredited institution in the field of Automotive Technology, or related field
- One year experience in automotive, school bus maintenance, or other type of fleet maintenance
OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS
• Must have appropriate valid Florida driver’s license required for vehicle(s) driven
• Must maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the District Safe Driver
Plan II or District equivalent
• Driver’s licensed must be maintained as a condition of continued employment
• Must obtain Florida Forklift Certification within 2 years of employment and maintain
certification thereafter
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- All hires must submit to and pass an initial drug test and subsequent random drug tests in accordance with the requirements of Florida Statute 112.0455 and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years’ experience in automotive, school bus maintenance, or other type of fleet maintenance
- Valid and current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
