JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of all District automobiles, buses, trucks, and other related equipment and provide support to the Shop Manager for various duties and responsibilities, as needed.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or Vocational Degree in the field of Automotive from an accredited institution
- One year experience in automotive, school bus maintenance, or other type of fleet maintenance
- OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Current and valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B, with a Passenger Endorsement 'P' or able to attain within 6 months of employment
- Must maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the District Safe Driver Plan. Driver's license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment
- Current and valid Florida Department of Education School Bus Safety Inspector Certification or able to attain within 2 years of employment
OTHER REQUIREMENT
- All hires must meet the physical requirements of the Post Offer Employment Testing (POET).
All hires must pass the pre-employment drug screening according to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employees Testing Act (OTETA).
- All hires must submit to and pass an initial drug test and subsequent random drug tests in accordance with the requirements of Florida Statute 112.0455 and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
