What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator - Senior Services position at Pasco County?
Responsible for the supervision, assignment, coordination, training, and directing work to staff, volunteers and senior employment engaged in carrying out daily operations and in providing services. Has oversight of assigned area of operations. Responsible for congregate Senior Centers and/or home delivery services to include daily operations, routine maintenance, supply ordering, and food safety. Provides training and maintains certifications for Food Manager and Client Information and Registration Tracking System (CIRTS). Performs employee evaluations and makes recommendations for merit and disciplinary action. Provides input for budget preparation and implementation, coordinates revenue generation and monitoring of program income from participant donations.
Conducts client interviews, assesses, prioritizes, and enrolls the eligible participant for services. Coordinates with other providers on behalf of the participant. Maintains participant files and is responsible for the data entry of the State's CIRTS and the Department's internal data base system (Serve-Tracker). Develops, monitors, and reconfigures home delivery routes. Handles reservations and addresses citizens', County staff and administrative concerns via oral and written communications. Provides exceptional customer service, conducts customer satisfaction surveys, encourages participants to fill out customer satisfaction cards, to gauge customer satisfaction and perception of services.
Routinely performs field site inspections and makes decisions to ensure Senior Center operations and programming meet department standards, Federal, State and local requirements; as well as ensuring policies and procedures are being followed. Promotes the enhancement of Senior Centers through activities and other venues to attract the contemporary senior.
Performs community outreach in search of elderly persons in need of information and referral about available related services. Works with community organizations and the general public to organize, support, and publicize activities and special events. Cultivates Public/Private Partnerships in order to maintain long standing relationships with organizations that are looking to assist services and programs currently in place through Public Services. Assists with maintaining a social media presence and updates on-line website contents. Develops graphics and advertising material to support Department services.
Assists in writing grants, reports, and administering contracts. Oversees the work of subordinates to ensure compliance with grants and that targeting goals are met. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects.
Performs related work as required.
- Strong public speaking skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with staff, peers, supervisors, community organizations, consultants, the public with particular emphasis upon the elderly, employees and State, Federal, and local government officials.

PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration, or other related field. Two (2) years' of professionally related experience preferably dealing with the elderly.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Certification in CPR and First-Aid required or must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire. 701B Certification highly preferred.
