What are the responsibilities and job description for the Relief Home Delivery Driver position at Pasco County?
Part-time work on an as needed basis performing vehicle-operating work in the transporting of meals from the congregate dining site to homebound elderly participants. Routine manual kitchen and food handling work in the receiving and packaging of food.
Transporting of meals from the congregate dining sites. Inspecting vehicle daily before commencing the assigned route, and completing the appropriate daily check list and paper work. Inspecting and cleaning food containers daily and packing meals at site. Receiving donations from homebound participants and delivering to donation box. Assists the Senior Center Coordinator with site operations, including but not limited to, routine manual kitchen and food handling duties related to receiving and packaging of food for delivery to homebound elderly participants. Operates Senior Center in the absence of the Senior Center Coordinator. Performs outreach to promote services to seniors. Position is required to perform duties as assigned. Performs related work as required.- Skill in the operation of delivery vehicle.
- Ability to interact well with homebound elderly participants.
- Knowledge of food-handling procedures and familiarity with delivery route/area.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to sit, bend, stoop, squat, walk and climb frequently. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
