JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SR. PROJECT MANAGER!
The Sr. Project Manager applies sound Project Management techniques, processes, and tools for the planning, design, and/or construction of projects included in the County’s 5-year Transportation Capital Improvements Program (TCIP).- Manages, plans, coordinates and supervises the activities of staff, engineering consultants, and contractors for the completion of projects included in the TCIP.
- Prepares and reviews scopes of work, fee estimates, construction cost estimates and schedules for projects in the TCIP; conducts negotiations.
- Performs technical reviews of engineering consultants’ studies, designs, plans, construction cost estimates, and specifications for transportation projects.
- Prepares and processes task orders, work orders, and memorandums for assigned projects.
- Reviews project status reports and invoices.
- Attends BOCC meetings, creates presentations and other supporting documents as needed.
- Assembles bid/construction documents.
- Prepares requests for statements of qualifications (RSQs).
- Briefs upper management and County’s leadership on status of assigned projects.
- Coordinates with the Capital Manager for the execution of agreements with funding partners (LAP, CIGP, TRIP, RAISE, etc.) and provides fiscal information, as necessary, in developing the 5-year TCIP..
- Documents, resolves, and recommends actions concerning unplanned increases in project costs.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Knowledge of Florida Department of Transportation’s Greenbook and FDM.
- Experience in contract administration and negotiations.
- Ability to read and interpret roadway plans, specifications and construction documents.
- Ability to gather, research, compile, analyze, and organize information from files, maps, drawings, reports, and studies.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports; analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of an assigned task.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local policy laws, regulations and codes.
- Ability to work within a team environment and collaborate across functional departments.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field and six (6) years' experience in the field of Civil Engineering, project management or roadway construction field, managing multiple projects OR a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field and eight (8) years' of experience in the field of Civil Engineering, project management or roadway construction field, managing multiple projects. Five (5) years' experience working with roadway construction and design required.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Registration as an Engineer in the State of Florida preferred. Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
