What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utilities Foreman- Mechanical & Electrical position at Pasco County?
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques commonly used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and generators.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and standard safety precautions that relate to construction and maintenance work.
- Ability to effectively plan, direct, and supervise a crew performing electrical and mechanical maintenance work.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees and the public.
- Ability to prepare written reports and keep records.
- Skill in the use of hand, power tools, and meters.
- Ability to read for comprehension.
PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to bend, squat, stoop, climb, and walk frequently. Ability to manipulate tools and repair parts in a complex pattern of movement. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Two (2) years of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience, which includes repair of water systems/sewer systems. One (1) year experience as a foreman or supervisor of mechanical or electrical personnel.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. Must have the following certifications: FWPCOA Utilities Maintenance Level 3 Certificate, FWPCOA Wastewater Collection Technician "A" Certification, Confined Space Certification, and Trenching & Shoring Certification.
