The Case Manager Job Developer assists the Centered Spirit Program with SMI, SED, Co-Curing disorder diagnoses clients obtain employment. This position requires the Case Manager/ Job Developer to work with clients to enhance their interview skills and teach job search fundamentals. The Case Manager/Job Developer develops a working relationship with local and tribal employers in an effort to find opportunities for program participants. This position will provide continued assistance to participants by monitoring employment performance and/or providing support services as needed.
  1. Develop plan for vocational employment services for each participant to address education and skills obtainment and employability services training to enhance employment marketability.
  2. Ensure that all required documentation for the determination is in the file.
  3. Assist with the design and implementation of work readiness training and conducts employability enhancements training for participants.
  4. Monitor participants engaged in program activities; resolve issues that interfere with successful program completion; follow best practice SAMHSA Toolkits.
  5. Counsel participants in individual or group settings on vocational choices, employment opportunities and educational requirements for available positions.
  6. Provide reports and other information according to established timelines.
  7. Maintain professional knowledge by attending meetings, conferences and educational workshops.
  8. Contribute to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  9. Establish files for each participant and documents all actions taken in the file.
  10. Serve as a liaison with other departments, outside agencies, and Tribal community in an effort to open communications on future employment opportunities for the program participants and assist those participants in obtaining an interview for employment.
  11. Attend meetings and seminars to obtain information for use in training programs.
  12. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.
Knowledge of:
  • Tribal, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the operations of Tribal programs;
  • Workforce related knowledge specific to the Tucson and Southern AZ job market;
  • Interview techniques and methods;
  • Current developments in local job market;
  • Customer service principles;
  • Recordkeeping principles;
  • Report preparation techniques;
  • Educational fundamentals required to design, implement, and conduct employability enhancements training programs;
  • Assess client's training needs and skill levels;
  • Prepare and distribute training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; set-up audiovisual equipment and make presentations when necessary;
  • Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with tribal members, employees, employers, other agencies, and the public;
  • Develop new and unique approaches for job development;
  • Handle confidential information with proper discretion.
  • Plan training activities, schedules and utilization of resources;
  • Exercise independent judgment;
  • Maintain files and records;
  • Develop and prepare a variety of business correspondence, records, reports, documents and forms;
  • Apply and explain applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and/or procedures;
  • Handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Public speaking;
  • Operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public. Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions.
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Education plus and two (2) years of professional experience.
AND
  • Experience in working with Native American population preferred;
  • Experience in job development and employability programs is preferred.

Special Requirements:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required;
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License; 
  • This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends; 
  • Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination.

Salary : $44,075
