POSITION SUMMARY

The Foundation Director is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation, ensuring its mission to support local communities is achieved. This includes developing and implementing strategies, managing operations, overseeing programs, and fostering relationships with stakeholders. The Director will work closely with the Board of Directors.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements the Foundation’s strategic plan in alignment with the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians’ vision and goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Foundation’s operations, including program development, grantmaking, financial management, and administration.
  • Manage and supervise Foundation staff, providing leadership, guidance, and support.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community organizations, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including identifying and securing funding from various sources.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Prepares and presents regular reports to the Board of Directors on the Foundation’s activities, performance, and financial status.
  • Manage the Foundation's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Represent the Foundation at community events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Create and distribute written and/or graphic content in the form of newsletters, emails, website updates, blog content, or social media posts.
  • Design graphics and materials for Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation events.
  • Ensure the Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation’s core branding philosophies are consistently messaged across digital and social media channels.
  • Collect and interpret data to improve events and programs.
  • Coordinates with external vendors, such as photographers, videographers, and graphic designers, to create multimedia content.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work non-traditional and/or extended hours, including evening and weekend meetings.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a foundation or non-profit organization.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, grantmaking, and program development.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and creative software.
  • Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required. Typical travel time is generally less than a week.
  • Possess a valid California Driver’s License and be insurable by the Tribe.

 

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS

Pre-employment Drug Testing and a Department of Justice Fingerprinting clearance through Federal, State and Child Abuse Index is a contingency for an offer of employment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Position may require exertion up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians property. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in proofreading correspondence and work-related documents. Acute hearing is required. Typically, office work setting conditions.

 

Employment with Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians is voluntarily entered. All PBNI personnel are employed on an at-will basis.  At-will employment may be terminated with or without cause, and with or without notice at any time by the employee or by PBNI. No manager, supervisor, or employee of the organization has any authority to enter into an agreement for employment for any specified period or to make an agreement for employment other than at-will terms.
