Job Description
Do you want to work in a happy, fun place where children learn through play? Then consider a position with the Paso Robles Children's Museum. This nonprofit provides a space for children and their families to play together in a safe, judgment-free environment and we need someone to join our team. We take play seriously and if you do too you might be just who we are looking for.
We are looking for someone who's available Friday-Monday for 6 hour shifts from approximately 10:00am to 4:00pm. If you're interested after reading the job description below please submit a brief cover letter with your resume.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe Museum for all
- Greet all guests and volunteers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate front desk computer system
- Provide accurate counting and balancing of the cash register
- Check-in Museum guests via computer
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Maintain Museum exhibits
- Maintain exhibit supplies
- Daily Museum cleaning including, floors, windows, restrooms and trash removal
- Additional cleaning and sanitizing to meet COVID requirements
- Co-supervise volunteers
- Interact with Museum guests, especially the children, to ensure an educational, fun visit
- Help perform all opening and closing duties
- Prepare for special Museum programs and events
- Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have a passion for working with children
- Must be energetic and enthusiastic
- Must be self motivated, be attentive to details, be able to assist all guests with excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends
- Must be a self-starter, who can work independently, be a supportive team member and work at a fast pace
- Must be able to lift 20lbs., climb stairs, bend, and stand for two or more hours
- Must be able to work with a large number of children/chaperone's/teachers visiting the Museum
- Must be responsible and trustworthy.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
