Description
The Business Systems Analyst’s role is, under close supervision of the Sr. Business System Analyst, to perform specialized analysis, technical system work, function test and user acceptance test, daily system operation and support tasks requiring knowledge of system and business process analysis and computer programming. This individual will work under the direction of the Sr. Business System Analyst to apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to understand the technology solutions they need, communicate the requirements to IT system vendors, and ensure the delivered solutions meet business requirements by executing system function test or user acceptance test.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Assist the Sr. Business System Analyst in the planning, design, development, of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
- Under a close supervision of the Sr. Business System Analyst, meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
- Assist the Sr. Business System Analyst in design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
- Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
- Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house and outsourced computing systems used in the organization.
- Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Acquisition & Deployment
- Assist the Sr. Business System Analyst in the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
- Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
Operational Management
- Create system design proposals based on user interviews and requirements hearings.
- Assist the Sr. Business System Analyst in performing cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to external IT system vendors, consultants, and programmers.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
- Create Standard Operation Procedure documents for existing, modified, and new systems.
- Create, update, review Computer System Validation documents for ERP system.
- Provide daily business-system operation support such as master data maintenance, data mass update, reviewing EDI logs and mass email logs, etc.
- Provide user helpdesk support for ERP systems and other integrated systems.
- Validate daily backup result for ERP system and other file servers.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems and 3 - 5 years related work experience.
Knowledge & Experience
- Practical knowledge and experience in managing data interface (SFTP, API and other forms of data interface) for use in ERP peripheral systems and third-party system and report software.
- Demonstrated project management skills. Proven experience with ERP system implementation/upgrade project.
- Proven experience with core software applications, including ERP system, EDI system, Expense System, Process Automation Software, and Workflow System.
- Proven experience in executing and overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent documentation skills to document business/technical requirements and As-Is/To-Be business/system process flow chart, to create detailed test cases, and to create detailed user manuals.
- Proven experience with creating the detailed system test and user acceptance test scenarios.
- Proven experience in executing the detailed system and user acceptance test and communicating the test result to developers and end-users.
- Working technical knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic programming languages, and Excel Macro program. Proven experience in SQL programming is a plus.
- Working knowledge of basic network and Windows Server systems.
- Proven experience in the operation and analysis of SQL database and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and data backup maintenance.
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Fluent in both English and Japanese.
