Job Description

Job Title : Chinese or Japanese bilingual -Sales Assistant Manager

Location : Near IAH airport (An Asian food distributor will open new office in Feb. 2025 at Houston, TX 77073)

Department : Sales Department

Scheduled Work Hours : M-F : 9AM - 6PM

Reports to : Branch Manager

Essential Job Functions :

Meet the monthly and annual sales quota as designated by the manager.
Organize workflow and ensure that the sales team understands their duties and delegated tasks.
Assist the Branch Manager in leading, supporting, and motivating the sales team to achieve the overall corporate sales objectives.
Understand customer needs and offer solutions and support.
Train and coach the sales team by providing constructive feedback and monitoring employee productivity.
Ensure the sales team collects payments and performs data entry tasks in a timely manner while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ensure that all employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
Visit customers and potential customers to provide support, information, and sell the company's products.
Cooperate with the accounting department to ensure invoice payments are received on time.
Coordinate urgent deliveries with customers to accommodate their needs.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and building rapport.
Educate customers on how the products or services can benefit them.
Input and update orders within the company database accordingly.
Maintain and safely operate the company vehicle as per the Company Vehicle Policy.
Participate in weekly sales meetings.
Attend semiannual inventory counts on designated days, possibly on weekends.
Attend company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
Perform other duties as required by the manager.
Obligation to respond to all management requests.

Physical Requirements :

Ability to drive for a majority of the daily working hours.

Ability to sit in a car for extended periods.

Ability to use hands and fingers to perform data entry tasks and take orders.

Ability to talk, hear, smell, taste, stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 40 pounds occasionally.

Working Conditions :

Noise Level : Normal to loud.

Location : Indoor in the office or at customer sites (restaurants, wholesalers, distributors, etc.), traveling.

Other Requirements :

Basic level in English reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Native level in Chinese, or Japanese - reading, speaking, listening, and writing required.

Maintain a clean driving record for the past 3 years.

Pass the Sake Adviser course within 1 year of employment.

Maintain a positive attitude.

Ability to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload.

High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree and above preferred.

2-3 years of relevant experience required; 5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills :

Basic mathematical knowledge (markups, discounts, combining / converting measurements, counting inventory, etc.).

Problem-solving skills.

Time and priority management skills.

Leadership skills.

Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.

Communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes preferred.
