Job Description
A Japanese trading company seeks a Sales & Operations Coordinator (Chemicals & Raw Materials).
Location: Montvale, NJ ONSITE
Salary: Base Salary $55,000 plus bonus
Other: Travel will be around 1-3 times per month. Needs a valid driver's license. Starts from a Sales Assistant and then becomes a Sales & Operations Coordinator.
General Summary
This position is responsible for driving sales growth by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with business clients and suppliers, as well as performing essential sales functions.
This includes researching potential clients, prospecting, pitching, managing customer relationships, preparing sales materials, processing contractual documents, providing customer service, and traveling for business purposes to meet clients and attend industry events.
Essential Job Functions
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, referrals, and inbound leads.
Understand customer needs and propose suitable products and services.
Develop new clients and conduct market research to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and business opportunities.
Participate in client meetings, dinners, and other entertainment events to strengthen business relationships and facilitate deal-making.
Negotiate trade conditions, terms, pricing, and contracts effectively to close deals.
Coordinate delivery schedules and provide timely updates to clients and partners.
Provide customer support through product samples and technical assistance.
Formulate and execute strategies to achieve sales and revenue targets.
Provide feedback to management on market trends, customer demands, and potential new products or services.
Travel domestically and internationally as needed to meet with clients, vendors, and partners.
Work closely with the logistics department to track shipments and provide customers with accurate delivery information. In the event of delays or issues, promptly communicate and coordinate with relevant parties.
Coordinate with the logistics and accounting departments to ensure that payments and fund collections are being handled appropriately. If the process does not proceed smoothly, negotiate or make necessary requests to the relevant parties to ensure proper resolution.
Manage inventory levels appropriately to ensure efficient order processing, while gathering information on demand and usage forecasts from suppliers and customers to develop and manage accurate purchasing and sales plans.
Resolve client/supplier complaints and complex service delivery issues professionally and effectively.
Expedite urgent requests and coordinate solutions with relevant teams as needed.
Respond promptly to client/supplier communications through email, phone, and other channels.
Experience/Minimum Qualifications Needed
Problem-solving skills to effectively resolve complex client issues.
Ability to create and analyze custom reports as needed.
