Fatherhood Class Facilitator/Employment Coordinator
Essential Position Functions:
- Run weekly fatherhood group workshops with participants following evidence based curriculum
- Meet with each workforce development program participant upon enrollment to establish an individualized career training and placement strategy
- Assist participants to create a professional resume portfolio and meet weekly to follow up on progress towards professional goals
- Identify appropriate career exploration activities and internship and job placements
- Meet with program staff on a regular basis to ensure appropriate information sharing, coordination of program activities and service delivery
- Routinely use data and evidence-based practices to target sectors and employment partners to obtain job and internship opportunities
- Build new relationships with and attend job fairs/hiring events to connect with potential employment partners and build ongoing relationships to increase employment opportunities for program participants
- Manage current partnerships with employers to assist in creating passages of success for clients
- Prepare and communicate job specifications and carefully match potential participants
- Refer appropriate participants to potential employers for consideration of the job openings and provide consistent follow-up to employers.
- Track attendance, employment placement outcomes, and all client touch points for program participants in data management systems
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to facilitate workshops during the evening via zoom twice per week
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Knowledge of/experience navigating northeast Ohio workforce development and social service systems.
- Experience working with and respect for low-income urban and rural families
- Knowledge of the demand-driven approach to employment services, job development strategies and labor market trends in a range of occupational fields (professional, skilled, semi-skilled and industrial)
- Experience working with program target population
- Self starter and go getter who can make successes happen without intensive management
- Ability to outreach, network, and market participants and program
- Ability to motivate participants toward full-time, entry-level employment
- Ability to motivate placed participants toward the retention of entry-level employment
- Ability to help participants goal set based on appropriate need prioritizations
Additional Core Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other widely utilized software applications
- Prior sales, marketing, employment counseling or job development experience
- Ability to work independently and meet established deadlines
- Ability to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously
