The Passages Hospice On Call Nurse is a full-time nurse position that handles the needs of our patients, after normal business hours. A typical On Call Nurse schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off, Monday (pm) - Monday (am). However, schedules could vary depending on the candidate.
Passages Hospice North Central RN On Call Nurse is responsible for responding to the needs of patients throughout the service area, which is areas within a 50 mile radius of Minden, LA.

Among other things, candidates must have the ability to:
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess condition of patients.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Perform initial assessments for hospice admissions.
- Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and activity.
- Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
- Ensure the delivery of high quality, compassionate care.
Requirements Candidates must possess:
- Licensure as an RN, currently licensed in Louisiana
- Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
- The ability to work successfully in both independent and team settings.
Required education:
- Associate's/Bachelor's/Practical Nursing License
