Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Group Therapy: Facilitate structured group therapy sessions for individuals with substance use and mental health disorders, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities
- Assess Client Needs: Evaluate clients' progress and therapeutic needs during group sessions and adjust therapeutic techniques as needed
- Implement Treatment Plans: Collaborate with the treatment team to implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic goals
- Document Progress: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and session outcomes in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
- Crisis Intervention: Provide support and intervention during crises or challenging situations that may arise during group sessions
- Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including counselors, psychologists, and correctional staff, to ensure coordinated and effective care
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience providing group therapy, preferably in a correctional or substance abuse treatment setting
- Strong understanding of substance use disorders, therapeutic techniques, and treatment modalities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate clients. Strong organizational and documentation skills are essential
- Ability to work a flexible schedule evenings and weekends as needed, based on facility requirements
- Background Check: Ability to pass a thorough background check and obtain necessary security clearances for working in a correctional environment
