What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Aid Navigator (PT) position at Passaic County Community College?
We are seeking a Financial Aid Navigator who will provide assistance to a specified case load of students. This person will communicate availability of all services which support the completion, collection and review of all documents related to financial aid verification. In addition, the Financial Aid Navigator will be responsible for updating/correcting and communicating with students regarding the status of their financial aid application and awards.
This is a part-time, hourly-rate position.
Examples of Duties:
- Collect and scan verification documents
- Update communication module with receipt of documents
- Telephone and respond to student inquiries
- Review tax returns, verification worksheets and tax assessment documentation
- Respond to email and telephone inquiries from students
- Evaluate student eligibility for financial aid programs
- Provide excellent customer service and answers to student inquiries.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in business or related discipline
- Experience working with a diverse student population
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Must be willing and able to work evenings, and/or at other locations as required
- Higher education experience in a community college environment
- Familiarity with Colleague and Microsoft office applications
- Knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures
- Familiarity with state and federal financial aid regulations and uniform methodology
