What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist (Temporary Part-Time) position at Passaic County Community College?
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated HR Generalist to join our team on a temporary basis. The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting HR directors in various human resources functions, such as recruitment, managing personnel data, and producing documents. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of HR best practices and demonstrate the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
This is a temporary, part-time, hourly position.
Example of Duties:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Process part-time renewals in SoftDocs.
- Process unemployment claims.
- Design, produce, and analyze reports.
- Assist with processing of all new hires, including the completion of I-9 verifications and background checks.
- Post and maintain job vacancies.
- Assist with preparation of the monthly Board packet.
- Aid with the onboarding of new full-time employees.
- Execute various office tasks such as scheduling meetings, responding to emails, and filing.
- Update HR databases.
- Complete data entry assignments.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a HR Generalist role or equivalent position required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paylocity, Kronos, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Excellent math, communication, and strong analytic skills required.
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay for this position is $25.
