What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Assistant position at Passaic County Community College?
We are seeking a Human Resources Technician who will perform a range of office duties with a high level of attention to detail that support the goal of the Office of Human Resources to provide extraordinary service to current and prospective employees of the College and the gen public in general.
This is a temporary part-time, hourly-rate position.
Receive and assist visitors to the Office of Human Resources- Collect and process employee data (i.e. data sheet, W-4 form, direct deposit, I-9 applications, and background checks)
- Perform data entry, operate office machines, maintain schedules, and make appointments
- Respond to and manage telephone inquiries from internal and external constituents
- Create and/or maintain electronic records utilizing a variety of software applications including Microsoft Excel, Colleague and ADP
- Assist in the processing of HR data, record keeping, and time/attendance in compliance with established policies and procedures
- Maintain data, information, and record systems including filing
- Compile data and information; procedure reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associate Degree from a Community College or 60 credits from any institution of higher education required- Minimum 2 years of related office work experience required
- Excellent in person and telephone communication skills required
- Working knowledge of computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word required
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Work experience in a human resources environment is preferred
- Knowledge of human resources related processes is preferred
- Bilingual skill preferred

Background check- Maximum of 29 hours per week on Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
