Farrowing Department Lead

If you like enjoying working with pigs and have strong leadership skills then we need you on our team! Passel Farms, formerly Standard Nutrition is currently looking for a full-time Farrowing Department Lead in the Welcome and Ceylon, MN area.

The right candidate will have 2 years of farrowing experience and strong leadership skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Leads weekend crew and during the absence of the Unit Manager
2. Training and daily follow-up of farrowing staff to follow all Production SOP’s and proper animal husbandry skills to reduce stress of herd and to maximize production.
3. Scheduling and prioritization of daily and weekly tasks and completion of task sheets.
4. Provides daily communication with Manager on production, animal health, and farrowing personnel issues.
5. Power washing and routine maintenance of system.
6. Organize pig flow.
7. Accurate and timely completion of farrowing and wean paperwork.
8. Monitors and maintains appropriate ventilation and room environment.
9. Responsible for data entry and correction of clerical errors.
10. Accurately place feed orders to avoid running short or spoiled feed.
11. Able to identify animals for treatment.
12. Select and load culls and process paperwork accurately.
13. Participates in answering alarm calls and emergency needs at the unit.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
