What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Passel Farms?
Passel Farms is seeking Maintenance Technicians to provide maintenance, and support to sow farms sites in the North Iowa area.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Perform general troubleshooting and repair of electrical, plumbing, heating, structure, metal fabrication and other miscellaneous tasks.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
- Regular and routine communication with site staff, managers, and supervisors.
- Follows all bio-security measures according to Passel Farms policy.
- Follows all Animal Welfare policies and practices and informs management of any violations by staff.
- Follows all safety rules and practices and encourages coworkers to do the same.
- Working Conditions:
- Reports to maintenance manager daily for schedule by phone or in person. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours M-F and available for on-call weekend and holiday rotation. Hours average 40-45 hours per week.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach overhead, standing and walking for extended periods of time on concrete, climb feed bins, work in tight spaces.
Equipment/Instruments Used:, power tools, hand tools, welder, ladders, volt meters,
Must have insurable driver's license to drive company vehicle between farm sites.
