Give your civil engineering experience a twist! Passero Associates’ Dayton, OH Office has an exciting, paid Civil Engineering Co-op/Intern opportunity in its Aviation Department. Airports are mini cities – from roadways to parking lots, buildings, utilities, and drainage areas civil engineering is at the forefront of aviation development. Use your skills and education to help our team develop and improve airports across the Eastern United States. Gain experience toward a professional career in Civil Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with different disciplines (engineers, construction field personnel, planners, and architects) to understand how each discipline helps progress a project.
- Design airfield and landside infrastructure development projects using AutoCAD.
- Write technical documentation (specifications and engineer’s reports) in MS Word.
- Research Federal Aviation Administration design guidance
- Prepare engineer’s estimates
- Attend project meetings, field visits with airport engineer, as needed
- Assist construction field personnel with site visits and reporting
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Pursuing BS degree in Civil Engineering / Civil-related field
- Available Spring/Summer 2025
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred
- Prior civil engineering co-op/intern experience, a plus
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong communication skills
- Eager learner
- Ability to visit job sites; personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required
