Position Overview
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible and accountable for the planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating nursing services of the homecare agency. The DON is responsible for the management of all operational services that involve clinical components. Working within the federal, state, and regional regulations covering home health the Nursing Director works innovatively to meet the needs of our exceptional patients and the growth of the company. The DON establishes and participates in program development and implementation. The Certified Home Health Aides (CHHA) reports through the DON who oversees training HHA’s and all nursing related items. The DON will report directly to the Agency’s Administrator.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure all admissions are done on time and as scheduled.
- Will ensure that every case and all assessments will be opened timely either through nursing staff or by DON.
- Maintain open lines of communication with families, physicians’ insurance case managers and office staff.
- Will Schedule, assign and follow up on assessments/reassessments to with per diem RN’s.
- Will take full responsibility for scheduling of all nursing staff for proper utilization of staff.
- Will take a lead role in open, constant, and clear communication with back-office team to ensure no issues with patient care and SOC’s.
- Will be available to attend daily/weekly meetings with the full team.
- Will send weekly reports to Administrator based off outline given by admin.
- Will aid in the hiring, training, and termination of per diem RN’s.
- Monitors patient care to ensure quality and appropriateness of services.
- Monitor staffing patterns of all patients for meeting clinical needs.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations.
- Evaluate and supervise staff in the field to assess their clinical abilities.
- Participates in clinical visits and calls as needed.
- Perform on site supervisory visits to assess client, family, environment, and clinical caregivers and complete follow-up documentation as needed.
- Ensure all clinical components are properly documented and stored in the outlined manner.

Requirements:
- Current Nursing License in the state of NJ
- Two years of management/DON
- Home Care experience preferred.
- Clinical or other work experience as per state and/or federal laws and regulations
- Willingness and ability to do home assessments throughout NJ
- Valid Driver’s License and Acceptable MVR
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
