What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Passion Dental?
The Dental Assistant will provide clinical assistance to dentists and specialists. Duties will include assisting in clinical procedures as directed by the doctor. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, patient preparation and positioning; clinical area preparation; the use, maintenance, distribution of dental equipment, instruments and supplies, and the collection and maintenance of patient data and records.
Dental Assistant Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
· Greet and prepare patients for treatment.
· Take digital dental radiographs (x-rays).
· Review medical history and take blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature when applicable.
· Practice optimal infection control practices reflective of CDC guidelines pertaining to sterilization and disinfection.
· Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
· Provide patients with instructions for oral care, including preventive and pre- and post-operative.
· Maintain compliance duties such as equipment maintenance and logs, when required.
· Assist providers with charting and treatment planning.
· Take impressions and pour models.
· Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., schedule appointments, answer phones, and order supplies).
· Assist the provider in all components of direct patient care including specialty procedures (orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery) when applicable.
· Perform preventive duties such as coronal polishing and fluoride varnish and sealant application, when applicable by state law, under direct supervision from the dentist.
· Maintain strict compliance to all CDC, OSHA, and HIPPA regulations and protocols.
· Maintain dental supply inventory.
· Track lab cases.
· Travel to multiple offices (when applicable).
· Obtain additional training or certification is a specified specialty.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Dental Assistant Qualifications:
· Active, state-issued dental assisting license (where applicable).
· Radiology certification (where applicable).
· Infection control certification (where applicable).
· Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
· Strong verbal/ communication skills.
· Embrace a positive team approach to patient care.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
