Regional Hygiene Support Specialist
The position of the Regional Hygiene Support Specialist (RHSS) will encompass all affiliated dental offices of Passion Dental Group. The RHSS will assist offices with on-site clinical support as well as staff training and guidance. The RHSS will report directly to the Director of Hygiene.
Regional Hygiene Support Specialist Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
· Maintain self production goals and chart audit expectations.
· Assist Director of Hygiene with monitoring production goals and office KPIs.
· Train Dental Hygienists and Hygiene Providers on quality assurance and documentation expectations to ensure proficient performance on chart audits.
· Provide guidance to Dental Hygienists and Hygiene Providers in developing adequate time management skills and clinical aptitudes, while maintaining production goals.
· Monitor periodontal, disease management, and all other established clinical protocols.
· Perform and/or assist with the training of all newly hired Dental Hygienists and Hygiene Providers.
· Monitor and ensure adherence to infection control practices and guidelines by all Dental Hygienists and Hygiene Providers.
· Assist the Chief Compliance Officer with monitoring the adherence to state BORID regulations relating to scope of practice and licensure.
· Communicate with the Hygiene Director on all clinical hygiene issues.
· Assist with the hiring and recruitment of all Dental Hygienists and Hygiene Providers (resume reviews and interviews).
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Registered Dental Hygienist Qualifications:
· Active, state-issued RDH license
· Passion for patient education, risk-based disease management
Registered Dental Hygienist Responsibilities:
· Perform NSPT, full mouth debridement, and periodontal maintenance procedures
· Administer local anesthesia (under direct supervision; hygienist must have evidence of certification)
· Place locally-administered adjunctive periodontal therapy
· Perform preventive care such as prophylaxis, fluoride, and dental sealants; and diagnostic care including digital intraoral and panoramic radiography
· Assess each patient’s individual caries risk and deliver individualized preventive health education and dietary counseling
· Educate patients on dental caries and periodontal disease etiology and risk factors
· Accurately document any findings relating to the patient’s intra- and extra-oral examination
· Schedule appointments for recall/maintenance visits
· Adhere to all OSHA, CDC/infection control, and state dental board regulations
· Assist with other duties as needed, including sterilization and front desk
Registered Dental Hygienist Qualifications:
- Active State RDH license
- Maintain a current license to practice including certifications as appropriate.
