What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Daycare Attendant position at Passion for Paws Boarding and Daycare?
Candidates must be available for the following schedule year-round:
Monday through Friday, 7:15am - 1:30pm OR 3:30pm.
Passion for Paws is a fun family-owned business looking for driven individuals to add to our daycare team! We're looking for individuals with a true love of all dogs, but more than that, the compassion and understanding for those dogs, and the patience to work with them to make their days with us fun and stress-free.
We provide opportunities for cross-training in reception and boarding, as well as shadowing on our veterinary side for individuals interested in expanding their knowledge in the animal service industry.
Position Summary:
- At Passion for Paws, the enrichment and well-being of our furry guests are of utmost importance. Our goal is to provide a fun, positive, and safe experience for our guests while in our care.
- You are closely monitoring the behavior and play of a group of up to 20 dogs (guests) in our large daycare group, and are responsible for the care, safety, and comfort of each guest in the group. Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to) providing stimulation and interaction for each guest, positive-based correction, cleaning up after guests, and maintaining the cleanliness of the daycare rooms and outdoor play yards.
Qualifications/Expectations:
- Dog Behavior experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual(s).
- Able to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
- Can handle all sizes and breeds of dogs.
- Reliable form of transportation.
- Flexible and eager to learn.
- Able to work daytime hours even during the school year.
- Able to work outside in all types of weather.
- Able to work alone or in a team environment.
- Can recognize and report any unusual pet condition or abnormal behavior to the direct supervisor.
- Understands the importance of clear and direct communication, both with other staff and supervisors.
- Able to supervise a group of up to large 20 dogs in a fast-paced environment.
