Pat’s Apizza is a new and upcoming pizzeria in North Haven opening in June. We will be operating within Forbes Premium Fuel at 289 Washington Ave in North Haven. Let us say, this won’t be your typical gas station food.
We are looking for an energetic person who shares our passion for pizza making and preparing memorable meals.
We will primarily be a slice and take-out joint at the time of opening. In the future we will add in-house made bagels, breakfast sandwiches, hot/cold deli sandwiches, and prepared to-go meals to the menu. Our kitchen will offer endless creativity and possibilities for what we can provide our guests.
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time pizza cook who is experienced with dough making. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working as a pizza maker and have intermediate to advanced knowledge of dough making including but not limited to: understanding proof times and temperature control, mix times, gluten development, dough shaping, and pre-ferments. If the candidate is interested in learning other breads, dough making will eventually involve baguettes, bagels, and occasionally focaccia. The candidate will work alongside the manager in dough making and serve as a primary backup for the dough and prep operation in the event of illness or absence. Candidate will also assist with the preparation of pizza toppings and ingredients. Finally, this will be a customer facing position as it is a quick service restaurant, ideal candidate will have good customer service skills and can expect to interact with guests.
Wage: $20-25/hour based on experience level
Duties and responsibilities
o Pizza making, oven management
- Prepare and cook pizzas according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all food preparation and cooking areas are clean and sanitized
o Pizza Prep
- Assist with pizza topping preparations
- Preparing tomato sauce
- Shredding cheese
- Pre-cooking meats
- Cutting vegetables
o Dough making
- Assist manager with preparing pizza dough. In the future will have the opportunity to learn bagel dough, focaccia, and baguettes
- Ability to lift 50lb bags of flour
- Use baker’s math to adjust recipes
o Skills
- Proven experience as a pizza cook
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Efficient time management, to ensure orders are prepared in a timely manner
- Communication, ability to raise problems to manager and collaborate on solutions
o Customer Engagement
- Greet and handle guests with warm, inviting demeanor
- Converse with guests
o Point of Sale
- Occasionally operate POS system for ringing up guests

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
