Location: 1721 W Main St, Richmond, VA 23220 in Richmond’s Fan District

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday and until 12 noon on some Saturdays. EXPERIENCE as a FLORAL DESIGNER is PREFERRED and on-the-job training is offered as needed! Urgently Hiring!

We at Pat’s Florist are seeking a full-time, experienced Floral Designer. The Floral Designer is responsible for arranging mainly live and some artificial floral arrangements for daily orders and other events such as holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, get wells and many other occasions. The ability to create LARGE funeral designs such as casket sprays and standing wreaths is preferred. There is STRONG emphasis on funeral work at our shop and we are also known for excellent quality in all other aspects of floral design. We have been in business for 40 years and are conveniently located in Richmond’s Fan District!! We are a friendly, local florist and easy to find in the heart of RVA!!

Job Competencies/Skills:

• Knowledge of flower varieties, design techniques and versed in creating large funeral pieces such as casket sprays and standing wreaths
• Exceptional and professional customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills with other members of the staff
• Answers customer phone calls as/if needed in a polite and professional manner
• Assists in processing flowers for walk-ins as/when needed
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly to meet time deadlines and quality standards as well as other company standards
• Must be a team player with an "All Hands-On-Deck" approach

Job Responsibilities:

• Designs daily floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders as well as large funeral pieces
• Maintains cleanliness of work area
• Assists with the preparation of floral department displays/storage areas
• Greets and assists in store customers in a pleasant manner
• Ability to keep a daily list of needed items to be ordered from suppliers
• Performs other related duties as necessary that may be assigned by management
• Reliable and responsible with good work ethic
