PATCH is seeking an individual to be responsible for reviewing and evaluating all Registry applications, coordinating Approval Panel meeting and documenting decisions, preparing statistical reports and assisting in daily supervision and implementation of Registry.
Duties
- Reviews all Registry applications, determines completeness of information and appropriate framework level. Performs any analysis required to determine the position the individual is eligible to hold in a DHS licensed child care center based on the documentation submitted and confirmed.
- Assists the Registry Manager in daily supervision of Registry staff.
- Conducts employee training.
- Fields calls and other forms of contact from people interested in the Registry program.
- Performs follow-up calls to providers if Registry application packet is incomplete or inaccurate.
- Coordinates and attends Registry and professional development. Compiles statistical data and prepares program reports.
- Provides career counseling and professional development information for practitioners.
- Data entry of Annual Health and Safety Training
- Provides client outreach technical assistance, program marketing, and neighbor island career counseling as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Working Conditions:
- Usually indoors in an office setting. Work Hours: primarily Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm; however duties may require varying hours which include evening and weekend work and travel within state and out-of-state.
- Computer and standard office equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
- Good organizational skills.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to think quickly when in conversation on the telephone or presenting to an audience. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and also closely in a team.
- Possess a valid Hawaii driver's license, clean driving record and access to an insured automobile. The employee is require to use her/his personal vehicle and must be willing to travel to various locations to perform the above mentioned duties.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Experience working in the Early Childhood field.
- Previous experience in staff supervision.
- Previous experience working with parents and interacting in a multi-cultural community.
- Knowledge of State's child care licensing requirements in preferred.
- Knowledge of parenting and community child care issues and resources is preferred.
