We currently have an opening for a Controller.
Position Summary:
Directs the day-to-day accounting of the organization including overseeing the monthly and year-end financial close. This includes assisting the CFO with preparation of financial analyses, reconciliations and maintaining the Company’s work-in-process schedule. The controller will maintain the daily banking (including maintaining the bank reconciliation and monitoring all inflows and outflows through the bank account). The Controller will assist the CFO with maintaining the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the conduct of its relationships with lending institutions and the financial community, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, payroll, and budgetary controls, as applicable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze financial statement, reports, and budgets for construction projects.
- Monitor and analyze project costs, variances, and trends.
- Compliance & Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting.
- Fixed Assets:
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and tracking.
- Cost Control:
- Implement and monitor cost constril measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
- Work in Progress (WIP) Accounting:
- Manage and monitor WIP Accounting.
- Ensure accurate tracking of project costs and revenues.
- Other Duties:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivables, and payroll.
- Cash management, monitor bank accounts and ensure operational funds are sufficient.
- Assist with tax compliance and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major
- · Strong knowledge of construction accounting and percentage of completion analysis
- 5 years of experience in Accounting Management
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (Sage 300CRE preferred)
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to adapt and adjust workload throughout the workday due to changes occurring in the office
This is an exempt salaried full-time position, on-site, with working hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
