Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Loan Officer Assistant to join our team. This role supports our Loan Officers by ensuring smooth and efficient processing of mortgage loan applications, managing communication with clients and third parties, and maintaining accurate records throughout the loan process. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Loan Application Support:
- Assist Loan Officers in collecting, reviewing, and organizing borrower documentation, including income verification, credit reports, and bank statements.
- Input loan applications and data into the loan origination system (LOS) accurately and efficiently.
2. Customer Service:
- Serve as a point of contact for borrowers, answering questions and providing updates throughout the loan process.
- Ensure a positive and professional experience for all clients by maintaining clear and timely communication.
3. Compliance and Documentation:
- Verify that all loan files comply with federal, state, and company policies and regulations.
- Prepare and organize required disclosures and ensure borrowers receive them within mandated timeframes.
4. Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with underwriters, processors, and other team members to facilitate loan approval and closing.
- Communicate with third parties such as appraisers, title companies, and real estate agents to ensure timely progress.
5. Administrative Duties:
- Manage Loan Officer’s calendar, appointments, and follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in preparing reports or presentations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Prior experience in the mortgage or real estate industry is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in loan origination systems (LOS) and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
