What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Education/ Health Teacher position at Paterson Public Schools?
- Hold a New Jersey instructional certificate in accordance with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:27.1 et seq., and N.J.A.C. Title 6 Chapter 11 with appropriate subject area endorsement(s) for the position held (N.J.A.C. 6:11-6.1, 6.2, or 8.1 et seq.).
- Teach PE Curriculum, plan, organize, and deliver physical education lessons in alignment with state and national standards.
- Complete necessary paperwork related to student performance, lesson plans, and reports.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress.
- Promote Health & Fitness, encourage students to maintain a healthy lifestyle by focusing on fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being.
- Promote Teamwork and Sportsmanship
- Teach students the importance of fair play, respect, and discipline in sports.
- Teach a variety of physical activities such as team sports, fitness exercises, and individual sports.
- Maintain Equipment and Facilities Ensure all physical education equipment is in good working condition.
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Ensure that all physical activities are conducted safely.
- Supervise students during class and other physical activities.
- Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
