Description
Are you passionate about food and eager to take your culinary skills to the next level? The Hilltop Restaurant at Steele Hill Resort is searching for someone just like you to join our team. This position plans, prepares, and cooks large quantities of food while striving for excellence in a fun and exciting work environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, prepare meats, fish, baked goods and special dishes to menus), special dietary or nutritional restrictions and number of portions to be served.
- Maintain a clean kitchen including all food prep equipment, ovens, grills, refrigerators
- Apportion, plate and garnish appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, vegetables and desserts
- Pre-prep food items for following day as required
- Time management skills
- Assist in unloading, inspecting, and storing incoming food and cleaning supplies and verify packing lists
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Help to maintain proper storage and rotation of food products
- Follow all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and work safely within established guidelines
- Other duties as assigned

Physical Activity Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry between 11-25 lbs. daily and frequently. Must be able to lift and carry 25-50 lbs. for short distances frequently.
- Standing and walking for a combined 8-12 hours on any given day
- Must be able to reach at varying shoulder heights, and push/pull occasionally, i.e. when pushing and pulling baking sheets to and from the oven with little resistance or using cart
- Must be able to grasp, handle, and torque
- Exposure to heat, steam, cold storage and cleaning chemicals
Pay: $18- $22/hr.
A $750.00 sign on bonus after a successful 90 days of employment in good standing.
