Pathfinder Engineering, Inc. is a civil engineering and surveying firm located in Wyoming, Michigan. Located in the Grand Rapids area, we serve clients mostly in West Michigan but also throughout Michigan.
Pathfinder Engineering, Inc. is seeking a regular, full-time Survey CAD Technician to join our team. A Survey CAD Technician will draft surveys and construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D based on information gathered in the field from the land survey crew and our engineering team.
This is a full-time position. Some flexibility in hours is permitted, but s/he must be available during the standard work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
· Process survey data and create boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and record plan surveys with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
· Analyze sketches, drawings, notes, and/or verbal information supplied by an engineer, surveyor, technician, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments
· Provide construction computations and staking layout information to survey crews, preparing cut-sheets and occasionally coordinating with surveyors on-site.
· Assist engineering staff in preparation of plans, permit drawings, record documents, marketing and presentation drawings.
· Assist surveying staff in preparation of all types of surveys, contours, and surface development.
· Communicate with a land survey crew in the field and clients to ensure deliverables are met
· Follow company standards for drawing creation and presentation
Qualifications And Experience
· Associates degree in drafting/design, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
· Proficient in Excel and able to integrate Excel with AutoCAD and/or GIS as needed.
· Strong understanding of how to coordinate drawings between disciplines and ability to identify drawing conflicts between disciplines such as engineering and surveying.
· Excellent concentration and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
· (Not Required) Applicant capable of obtaining Michigan Professional Survey license is a benefit and may offer the opportunity for advancement.
