JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for Quality Management System in accordance with Pathfinder Manufacturing AS9100D, ISO 9001/2015 procedures, work instructions, training/certifications, and customer requirements. The Manager of Quality Assurance shall be the primary point of contact for customer and supplier inquiries, audits, and process improvement activities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The Manager of Quality Assurance supervises all Quality Assurance Inspectors and Dimensional Inspectors in accordance with Pathfinder Manufacturing policies and applicable laws such as; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

· Generates Corrective Actions and facilitates internal Corrective Action reports as necessary to assure customer compliance as well as agency compliance.

· Actively participates in Non-Conformance conferences with customers and employees.

· Maintains high degree of accuracy and integrity of all data collection and reporting.

· Reviews, approves and disapproves suppliers and subcontractors to assure customer compliance as well as agency compliance.

· Establishes and implements preventive actions while maintaining efforts for preventive measures as required.

· Coordinates internal training to include certified training, on-the-job training and quality management system training.

· Develops and maintains training curriculum for certification training.

· Coordinates the calibration of all inspection measuring & test equipment.

· Directs audits, including creating audit checklists; documenting findings.

· Provides technical support to all shop employees regarding quality assurance as required.

· Adheres to and promotes all agency established policies and procedures and identifies opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.

· Responsible for coordinating corrective action plans and develops policies and procedures which assure all production areas of meeting goals, projections and producing quality products.

· Ensure successful completion of all customer required documentation as required including: Squawk, Replacement Parts Authorization, Defective Parts Tag, Boeing P-Copy, Pathfinder Manufacturing Work Order, Job Set-up Checklist, Customer Disposition and Daily Production Report.

· Ensure that all assembly work is correctly documented and processed as defined by AS9100D, ISO 9001/2015 procedures and work instructions.

· Document all deviations that interfere with the acceptance of assembled product.

· Identify root causes and corrective action for quality problems.

· Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time to provide supervision, mentorship and leadership to the QA/QD Inspectors.

· Develop and implement 90-day and annual evaluations for all QA direct reports.

· Participate in job posting, application screening, interviewing and background investigations for all QA direct reports.

· Serve on the Pathfinder Manufacturing safety committee and promote all safety policies and procedures.

· Assess quality performance trends and develop Quality Improvement Plans.

· Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles and techniques.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 7- 10 years direct experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry.

· Thorough knowledge of AS9100D, ISO 9001/2015 quality system requirements.

· Minimum of 3 years Quality Assurance Experience required

· Highly proficient in the reading/interpreting of aerospace blueprints specifications and manufacturing processes and understand manufacturing planning work orders.

  • Previous experience successfully leading Continuous Improvement / Lean and Quality initiatives in the aerospace industry.

· In-depth knowledge of quality engineering theories, principles, inspection techniques, tools and equipment.

· Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and other inspection gauges

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and accreditation standards.

· Define and critically analyze problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

· Competently use computer programs such as Word, Excel, Access, etc.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure and compute rate, ratio and percentages.

· Ability to take direction from supervisor to complete assigned tasks

· Ability to communicate information clearly and directly to employees and supervisory personnel both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to adapt to change (positive or negative)

· Ability to accept of criticism and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations

· Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles

· Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.

· Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges

· Ability to discern all colors of the spectrum (ROYGBIV)

· US Person Status Due to Export Control

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read work instructions and procedures and to follow written and verbal instructions in English.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

· High School Diploma required.

· AA Degree in technical or mechanical field preferred.

· Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma White/Green Belt certification preferred
