JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate/Assistant Director of Cytogenetics, FISH and Arrays is responsible for clinical case work in the division of Molecular Pathology. Job title will be commensurate with training and qualifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for assisting with the clinical case sign out across Molecular Pathology and Cancer Genomics services in collaboration with CMO and Section Director of Cytogenetics.
- Assist in strategic development of the laboratory services.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of polices and procedures that guide and support Laboratory Services.
- Establishes and executes departmental long and short-term goals.
- Develops, implements and maintains effective department QA programs and monitors.
- Work with other departments within PathGroup and subsidiaries.
- Present material to various committees.
- Assists in development protocols and Technical Bulletins to help Market Molecular Pathology services.
- Help Clients with interpretation of Cytogenetics results.
- Helps develop and validate Cytogenetics methods.
- Represents Laboratory on varies committees.
- Protect assets of company.
- Participate in the Corporate Compliance Program.
- Responsible for meeting the compliance guidelines for the laboratory industry.
- Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.
- Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry's best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.
- Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.
EDUCATION & LICENSURE:
- PhD, MD, and/or DO with ABMGG certification in Clinical Cytogenetics (dual certification in Molecular Genetics preferred) or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. Interest/experience in bioinformatics would be considered a plus.
- Must hold a valid Tennessee Laboratory Directors License or State eligible.

- Must be able to make independent decisions, process information accurately, accurately report financials, manage multiple projects simultaneously and be organized.
