What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer position at Pathology Group Of Louisiana?
Job Summary:
Reporting to and under guidance of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Assistant CAO (aCAO) assists the CAO with the day-to-day company business to ensure consistent, smooth operations. It includes all areas of the business - the administrative staff, accounting, billing, laboratory and courier services. The aCAO also assists with overseeing contracting (business and healthcare third party payers), billing and collections, budgeting and purchasing, compliance, building maintenance, human resources and other issues/items as assigned by the CAO. The aCAO also assists with managing relationships with clients and vendors and liaises between departments and the CAO and/or Board of Directors. Must be adaptable, flexible and able to assist with supporting and implementing changes in the organization as required for the business.
Education, Experience, and Training:
MBA or MHA degree is required with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in an upper-level role in a healthcare organization. Revenue cycle and/or accounting/finance experience is highly desirable.
Employment Variables:
Can be expected to work an average of 50 hours per week. Must be present for Board of Director and other committee meetings that occur after hours or in the early morning. Meetings into the late evening at least once per month should be anticipated.
Mental Demands:
High degree of mental alertness and attention to detail is required. Must demonstrate good judgment in establishing priorities that allow for timely and effective accomplishment of tasks, frequently under time constraints and simultaneous activities to balance. Excellent customer service and people skills are essential. Must recognize items/issues that need to be referred to other team members in the company, escalating to the administrative team or CAO as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
