We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist in the assessment of patients' mental health status and needs.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive outcomes.
- Provide direct patient care, ensuring safety and comfort during treatment.
- Support mental health counseling sessions by preparing materials and maintaining a conducive environment.
- Facilitate group activities that encourage social interaction and emotional expression.
- Document patient progress and report any significant changes to the clinical team.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Engage with pediatric patients as needed, adapting approaches to suit their developmental levels.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions.
Requirements
- Have an Idaho License for Counseling from the Idaho Board of Occupational Licenses
- Previous experience in a mental health setting or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and patient assessment processes.
- Familiarity with grief counseling practices is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.
