Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Resource Parent Recruiter/ Processor to join our team. We are a growing faith based, private, non profit foster family and adoption agency. The ideal candidate will have a background in social work, child welfare, psychology, or related fields, with experience working with children and families in crisis situations. Responsibilities
- Responsible to assist in recruitment efforts of resource parents, process all new resource parents who do not possess a resource parent certification with Pathway.
- Responds to all calls regarding new applicants and handles correspondence with these parents’ application process.
- Maintains on-going and accurate files for all new resource parent applicants and their outstanding forms, first aid, CPR, fingerprint process and initial training, to ensure that all requirements are met which have been set by California State Department of Social Services, CCL, Title 22/ ILS or Pathway Family Services, Inc.
- Keeps a communication log on all files; schedules, attends, and processes all the charts and materials for initial inspections, first aid and CPR training; towards the completion of these files, he/she must work in collaboration with the Social work department regarding final home studies (home evaluations) and the new homes available for placement.
- May do written evaluations on families in certification process. This includes motivational interviewing, mitigating, and writing the written report.
- Will participate in recruitment events as needed.
- Participates in employee training seminars/conferences and Agency events; and is required to comply with the procedures set forth in the Agency Corporate Manual and Personnel Handbook.
Skills
Public speaking, hosting recruitment booth or events, use of marketing materials and appropriate follow through procedures with organizations or individuals who are interested in partnering with the agency for the purpose of Resource parenting.
· Office methods, practices, and procedures; running office machines, great computer skills; correct spelling, arithmetic, and the use of a database.
· Great verbal and written communication skills via telephone, e-mail, etc. in preparing an appointment for screening or training resource families, or for in assisting in the planning of recruitment and marketing events.
· Must have good working knowledge of Title 22/ILS 6 Resource Parent certification requirements.
Ability to:
· Initiate contact with Key persons within assigned communities for the purpose of providing an overview of services provided to clients, to solicit opportunities to communicate the vision and mission of the agency to interested audiences, to prepare appropriate, brief, yet concise presentations that will provide a clear understanding of the purpose of the organization and the need for altruistic families to participate as resource parents on behalf of the agency.
· Must have strong communication and people engagement skills.
· An ability to explain details clearly and to provide a systemic method of coaching families through the certification process.
· Perform routine secretarial and/or clerical work with speed and accuracy, including ability to spell correctly, use good grammar and make simple arithmetical calculations; learn to operate standard office equipment (including computer) and learn office rules, methods, and policies; type at a speed of 40 words a minute; understand and carry out oral and written directions; and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
