What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Counselor position at Pathway Healthcare?
Position Role: As a Behavioral Health Counselor, you will be a vital member of our team, delivering compassionate, evidence-based behavioral health services to our patients. Your role would involve utilizing proven treatment modalities, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, and Stages of Change Therapy.
This is a Hybrid position.
Key Responsibilities
· Foster a culture that aligns with Pathway’s mission: WE HELP PEOPLE.
· Stay current with emerging, evidence-based treatment practices in addiction counseling.
· Provide outpatient counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups, including in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting.
· Review patient electronic medical records prior to sessions to stay informed of any changes in treatment plans, medication, or care.
· Create a comfortable, trusting environment that encourages patients to speak openly about their emotions and perspectives.
· Conduct clinical assessments for new and existing patients, collaborating to develop appropriate behavioral health treatment plans.
· Deliver empathetic and compassionate behavioral health care in person and/or via TeleHealth.
· Document patient information post-session, including progress notes, diagnosis, clinical opinions, and treatment plan updates.
· Manage administrative tasks to ensure continuous flow of pertinent patient information to and from other providers.
· Maintain a minimum of 25 Patient-Facing Hours per week.
· Manage a caseload of 120-160 patients.
· Collaborate with in-house Medical Doctors, Psychiatrists, and Patient Care Coordinators.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work or another clinical counseling field.
- Must be independently licensed in the state where they are working and in good standing.
Must hold one of the below licenses:
- Alabama: LICSW, LPC
- Mississippi: LCSW, LPC
- Tennessee: LCSW, LPC-MHSP
- Texas: LCSW, LPC
