Senior Sales Tax Specialist
Location: Western MN, or Remote to Minnesota Candidates
Schedule: Monday – Thursday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), Friday (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000
About Us:
A leading company in the construction industry is seeking a Senior Sales Tax Specialist to support tax compliance efforts across multiple projects. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate tax reporting, reviewing contracts, and collaborating with key stakeholders to mitigate tax risks.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Estimating Department in analyzing preliminary tax rates and the taxability of potential projects.

Review construction contracts to ensure proper incorporation of sales tax language.

Research state-specific sales tax laws to determine tax implications for each construction project.

Verify the accuracy and completeness of Owner-provided exemption certificates.

Collaborate with project Owners regarding the taxability of their construction projects.

Prepare comprehensive project tax summaries for Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Field Management teams.

Audit project costs and invoices to ensure proper tax payments on materials.

Oversee use tax compliance, ensuring all applicable materials are accounted for.

Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.

Develop and utilize reports to support tax compliance and financial analysis.

Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders.

Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
