What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utilization Manager position at Pathway to Hope Counseling Services, Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the utilization department and oversee all staff and operate according to DBHDD policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure that all clients receive prompt quality care to
- Monitor day to day operations and analyze data to identify areas for improvement
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure that all staff maintain all required documentation s
- Ensure that policies are updated in keeping with DBHDD and that all staff are trained on updated polices to include compliance, relevant regulations and standards, including HIPAA and other privacy laws
- Collaborate with other departments to address to ensure that you and the other departments are working as a team
- Develop and maintain documentation related to all systems, including policies, procedures, and records
Learn all areas within that program to include intake, eligibility, assessment processing, training, etc
Experience working with a Mental Health Agency is a plus as well as Supervisory skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in utilization management or a related role
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid, and managed care, case management, primary care,
- Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with staff at all levels
