Pathway to Hope
Olathe, KS Full Time
POSTED ON 4/12/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/10/2025

Who We Are & What We’re About

At Pathway To Hope, we believe everyone deserves to live a life of dignity, connection, and purpose—no matter where they are on their mental health journey. Based in Olathe, KS, we’re a nonprofit mental health organization dedicated to empowering individuals with mental illness and their families. Our programs--including Reclamation Clubhouse, the first Clubhouse International accredited program in the Kansas City Metro--provide a compassionate community of support, purpose, and belonging. Our vision is a community where mental illness is met with compassion, not stigma.

We’re growing, evolving, and strengthening our impact—and we’re looking for the right leader to help guide us there.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a mission-driven Executive Director who’s passionate about mental health, a natural connector, and ready to lead both strategy and day-to-day operations. You understand the mental health landscape, can move seamlessly between the boardroom and the community, and know how to build programs, people, and partnerships that last. You will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial health of the organization, while strengthening current partnerships and establishing new partnerships, advocating for mental health initiatives, and advancing our mission through innovative leadership.

What’s Required to Be Considered

  • 5-10 years of leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit, mental health, or human services.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in social work, public administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing teams, budgets, and organizational growth.
  • Strong background in grant management, fundraising, or development strategy.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid billing or willingness to quickly learn and lead this area.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care.

What Separates the Best from the Rest

  • You bring a deep passion for community-based mental health and the ability to advocate effectively at both the local and state level.
  • You’re a strategic thinker who can turn vision into action and navigate complex challenges with clarity and focus.
  • You foster strong, healthy organizational culture and lead with empathy, transparency, and purpose.
  • You’re comfortable engaging with diverse audiences—from policymakers and funders to staff, program participants, and partners.
  • You balance data-driven decision-making with a people-centered approach to leadership and service delivery.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Financial Oversight & Sustainability

  • Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure healthy cash flow and long-term financial planning.
  • Maintain transparency and sustainability across all programs and operations.
  • Oversee grant strategy, submissions, and compliance.
  • Guide Medicaid implementation, reimbursement efforts, and ensure reporting compliance.

Program Leadership & Expansion

  • Oversee all service delivery, evaluation, and strategic growth.
  • Expand access to Reclamation Clubhouse programs and community impact.
  • Expand services to meet community needs, with a focus on the growth and effectiveness of the Clubhouse and the Encourage. Empower. Educate ("E3") programs.

Advocacy & Systems Change

  • Lead public policy engagement at the local and state-level and strengthen mental health visibility in Kansas.
  • Actively represent Pathway To Hope in the Kansas Clubhouse Coalition.

Development & Partnerships

  • Strengthen partnerships with healthcare, government, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Lead fundraising strategy, including donor cultivation, grant writing, and development of strategic partnerships to ensure a diverse funding portfolio.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders, community partners, and government agencies to strengthen visibility and collaborative impact.
  • Direct grant application processes, reporting, and regulatory compliance to maintain public and private funding sources.

Team & Board Leadership

  • Serve as key liaison to the Board of Directors, collaborating and closely supporting strategy, governance, and vision.
  • Cultivate and lead a high-performing team, nurturing a culture of collaboration, accountability, and mission alignment.

Compliance, Operations & Risk Management

  • Ensure organizational and legal compliance, risk management, and best practices.
  • Adhere to all regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and effective environment for staff, Clubhouse members and those we provide services to.

Physical Requirements

We believe that leadership presence is important for connection and culture, and we’re committed to flexibility that supports both organizational needs and work-life balance.

  • Hybrid work model with regular, consistent onsite presence at the office for team collaboration, program engagement, and community visibility.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to travel locally and, on occasion, regionally between multiple locations for training, donor meetings, networking, events and/or work-related activities.
  • Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to directions and safety hazards.
  • Attendance at on-site events, meetings, and community activities as needed.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds (event materials, supplies, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience
  • Regular full-time, FLSA-exempt
  • Health insurance (medical/Rx, dental, vision)
  • Paid time off and holidays
