What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director position at Pathway to Hope?
Who We Are & What We’re About
At Pathway To Hope, we believe everyone deserves to live a life of dignity, connection, and purpose—no matter where they are on their mental health journey. Based in Olathe, KS, we’re a nonprofit mental health organization dedicated to empowering individuals with mental illness and their families. Our programs--including Reclamation Clubhouse, the first Clubhouse International accredited program in the Kansas City Metro--provide a compassionate community of support, purpose, and belonging. Our vision is a community where mental illness is met with compassion, not stigma.
We’re growing, evolving, and strengthening our impact—and we’re looking for the right leader to help guide us there.

You understand the mental health landscape, can move seamlessly between the boardroom and the community, and know how to build programs, people, and partnerships that last. You will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial health of the organization, while strengthening current partnerships and establishing new partnerships, advocating for mental health initiatives, and advancing our mission through innovative leadership.

- Strong background in grant management, fundraising, or development strategy.
- Familiarity with Medicaid billing or willingness to quickly learn and lead this area.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care.
What Separates the Best from the Rest
- You bring a deep passion for community-based mental health and the ability to advocate effectively at both the local and state level.
- You’re a strategic thinker who can turn vision into action and navigate complex challenges with clarity and focus.
- You foster strong, healthy organizational culture and lead with empathy, transparency, and purpose.
- You’re comfortable engaging with diverse audiences—from policymakers and funders to staff, program participants, and partners.
- You balance data-driven decision-making with a people-centered approach to leadership and service delivery.

Compliance, Operations & Risk Management
- Ensure organizational and legal compliance, risk management, and best practices.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and effective environment for staff, Clubhouse members and those we provide services to.
