Job Description: Pathways In Education (PIE) is an Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP) serving grades 9-12 in the Chicago community. Pathways considers the unique needs of every student, allowing access to small group classes, guided independent study, online courses, and experiential learning, to address each student's individual strengths and needs. PIE places great emphasis on the student-teacher relationship, a critical component to the development of students’ personal, emotional, and academic well-being. Pathways In Education is looking for a Lead Center Coordinator in the Chicago area with strong administrative support and leadership skills to work at the Brighton Park center. The Lead Center Coordinator will have the following responsibilities: Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:* Serves as the main facilities contact for PIE IL and coordinates with home office on repairs, maintenance and vendors. Responsible for training new Center Coordinators (CCs) and providing ongoing support and development for all CCs. Works with Leadership Team to coordinate and produce special events for students and staff members (i.e. Teambuilding, Prom, Open House, College/Career Fair, etc.) Provides support and serves as a point person for Graduation and Graduation events. Prepares data and reports for the Leadership Team. Manages paperwork and serves as a liaison or representative for students attending Pathways Trips. Creates and distributes promotional flyers and monthly calendars for upcoming events to increase student participation. Monitors, leads, and shares information with Social Media coordinator. Performs a variety of routine and responsible administrative, secretarial, and clerical functions. Reviews center budgets. Assists with other functions & special projects as requested. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to train, direct and delegate responsibility to staff Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment, in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem solving skills, while maintaining courtesy, professionalism, and a customer service attitude. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with students, parents, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner. Strong interpersonal relationship skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Working knowledge of office equipment, especially the computer. Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision. Ability to follow up on task commitments and give updates as needed. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Google Suite, MS Word & Excel Pathways In Education experience preferred. Education and Experience: High school diploma or its equivalent.
