Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support throughout their visit. This position requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating patient care activities, managing patient flow, and providing essential information to both patients and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information regarding services offered.
- Coordinate patient appointments and ensure efficient scheduling to optimize clinic operations.
- Assist in the management of patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers, including relaying important medical information.
- Support clinical staff in the delivery of patient care by preparing examination rooms and assisting with procedures as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance patient experience within the clinic setting.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to patient care.
Requirements
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Previous experience in a clinic or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and staff alike.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.
- Sending referrals to specialists and following up with lab and image results.
- Checking denied claims and resubmitting corrected claims within our electronic record system, Athena.
- Checking vitals, updating electronic charts, and prepping patients for doctor visits.
- Returning phone calls, faxes, and medical record requests.
- Maintaining providers credentialing.
Currently the hours will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9-5 but eventually will be M-F

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
